Hey, I have a few questions regarding recording interface and mics. All I want to be able to record is my guitar and voice at the same time and also separately. This is what I am looking at getting and I was just wondering on your opinions.
If it's an electric guitar and you want to plugit in directly then you are OK. But I'd go for an interface with two phantom powered XLR mic inputs then you can mic a guitar speaker cab or mic an acoustic guitar.
I like the Presonsus "audio box" but any good brand with specs like that will work.
One thing I look for is that the audio interface work on the Mac with no drivers to install. This way you never have to wait and hope that new drivers are available after an OS upgrade. Devices that are "class compliant" don't need drivers, other then those built into Mac OS.

Forget WiFi & use HomePlug networking. The Devolo plugs seem particularly reliable.
I try wirelessly streaming music to an airport express in the next room & it's not a good experience. All my HomePlug networking works flawlessly & fast - no problem at all.
I have my iTunes library file on my laptop, but all the music on a firewire 800 drive on a Mac mini at the other end of the house. HomePlug gets it from mini to MBP with no lag at all

The recruitment seminar is really relaxed and you will get through it as long as you be yourself, engage with the recruiters and other people there and ask plenty of questions at the end regarding the job. Don't come over too much as a hardcore Apple fanboy but talk about how much you can't put down your iPhone/iPod. During the group exercises, make sure you try and come over as a good leader but good team player at the same time - make sure that your ideas are part of the main focus but be sure to agree with ideas that you wish you though of. Otherwise, just enjoy it as it's really relaxed and you will spend most of the two and a half hours watching a presentation, videos and doing some group exercises. They get through hundreds of CV's at a time and to get the chance to be considered is a good achievement. Just out of interest, what store are you thinking of joining and what position are you after?

As for pricing considerations, refurb. 3rd gens (4gb) start at $99 in the apple store, ipod2sell suggests $80. That is, of course, without the engraving to consider. I would, however, reemphasize that aside from the engraving, the iPod is in pristine condition.

You either loved or hated the puck. If it was clean, it felt great to use. I still have them and use one on the blueberry iMac I have in the garage. I personally liked it a lot. That said, I still use the original black Pro Mouse to this day with my main setup.

If his phone is being synced over-the-air with Exchange, then make sure that "Sync Address Book Contacts" is unchecked in iTunes.

If I use iMovie3 (3.0.3) and iMovieHD 5 (5.0.2), will there be a quality difference in the raw unedited DV-material of film 1 and film 2?
The source material is analogue.

Go into Activity Monitor and view what is hogging your processor.

Im getting at my local att store at midnight. Yesterday they said they were getting a shipment in at 8am and 11am. They dont know definite numbers but they said more than last year and they got over 100 3gs last year :eek:

If you donate directly to the organizations involved (Red Cross etc) I can't imagine they'll be taking a cut...can they??
They live off of the donations themselves. It may be called Administative costs or something else but they take a cut for themselves. I think 15% is about average.

Recently I've been having major problems with my Airport (PowerBook G4) -- a lot of stalls and stops when opening even the most basic webpages, can't download new software (although I did manage to download the latest airport update) -- it's almost as if I'm on dial-up. It's always run a bit slow, but lately it's just been unacceptable. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my provider. Does anyone here have any idea why this is happening?
My airport sucks, too. I noticed that when I ping -f it, I get about 27% packet loss consistently (this is pinging it from the wired network). I get 0% pinging my router or any other machine in the house. I've tried different network jacks but it's always the same with the airport. My signal strength is good, and I can regularly ping things. It's just I drop packets between the airport and the main router. It sucks.

Regarding MAMP:
If I install in on a Mac which is on a LAN, can other computers on the same network access it or the sites it's hosting?
Can anyone confirm that people can't access it via the web as well? (Just want to be sure that I don't get it messed up or visible before I want it to go live.)
