Thanks for your help.
If I can't get the upgrade I'm just going to buy an external HD and make it a network drive.

yeah dude, iphones are locked to ATT or Verizon. U can get a factory unlocked but they are expensive. Gevey SIM is your best bet if you wanna unlock an iP4.
U can probably get a plan from T-mo for 500 min voice/200MB data for like 45 bucks. For texting u can use Google voice app.

yes, i think the gold digger song is pretty lousy...
i think that the performances should try to be mainstream, lets the products speak for themselves, not your over-the-top artists

That's really my point.
The point could be more accurately said with something other than "this is Apple's Vista." If it was Apple's Vista, no one would be buying it.
When any naysayer decides to call virtually every product Apple produces since Vista "Apple's Vista," then the metaphor has jumped the shark.
But few Apple products in the last decade have had so many highly publicized issues as iPhone 4
We're also talking about iOS4 on the iPhone 3G here, not the iPhone 4.

Don't worry about Apple techies insisting that the new one is better... the fact is that no test has shown with any authority which is better.
I also suspect that a lot of die-hard Macheads are currently in the process of brainwashing themselves to worship the DDR PM's in order to maintain the "Apple rocks" world view.
I say that the DDR PM's are OK but not very exciting. Performance is not the primary advantage of the new PM's; I'd say it's mostly RAM and disk capacity.

Nearly without fail, everyone who tries to enforce a photography ban is some form of rent-a-cop (or the DC Park Police, if you're downtown). In fact, he was wearing the usual RTC parking monitor garb, so yes. Paul Blart, self-appointed Apple Event Press Liaison :D
I know. Back when the movie 'Anchorman' came out, I got free passes to a sneak peak at the Arlington Cinema & Draft. Traffic was (as usual) crappy to get there and we were running in at the last second when I got stopped by a rent a cop telling me I couldn't bring my crappy old flip phone.
I said, "What do you think I'm going to do with it? Make a bootleg video with a phone that doesn't record video?"
The guy says, "Well, you know the lingo!"
I said, "I know the lingo because I'm not a moron! It would be impossible for my phone to capture even 1 frame per second."
The guy then threatened me so we left and have never returned to that place. I hate rent a cops with a passion...

Why can't I change icons for a file just by dragging an icon from one info window to another? It is inconsistent with how the rest of the OS X user interface works, I think.

Just curious. I got my new pb and am overall very very happy with it. But i am a biologist and work that i do requires up close scrutinay of several photographs. These horizontal lines make that very annoying. If this is a software problem i wont be that discouraged, but if it is hardware i may have to get a pre-october refurb. Anyone have any insight into this issue?

Just wondering if it would be effective to use iDisk as a small CDN (Content Delivery Network) for a website?
I have a website with fairly high traffic and am working to make it as fast as possible. One of the things I am considering is using a CDN for static files. My mostly vacant iDisk account popped into my head as a possible contender. I was wondering if anyone else had tried this?

bought probably 7 cases plus the free bumpers.
I simply purchased a squaretrade warranty and now running naked, loving it.
If you call apple they will still give you one, as of 2 weeks ago

Drag the .app to the trash. Don't use cleanmymac, appzapper, appcleaner or any crap like that.
Ugh, I just bought CleanMyMac. Could you elaborate more why these products are bad to use? Thanks
Nevermind: I see someone just addressed my question as I was posting.

Damn, I'm not going to be able to make a 5pm launch :(
Guess it'll be a case of waiting until 0001 on Friday morning to order one online.
Good luck to those of you that do go!

Hi Guys, Im new to the forum but thought its the best place to ask. I have a interview for the role of a Apple Creative this week and just wanted to find out what happens at these event and how to they select the right candidates if we all in one big group?
any heads up would be good.
Thanks in advance!
When you do a group interview, be the most outgoing, talkative and fun loving person possible. Apple wants a go getter not a sheltered person who is afraid to speak up, talk, laugh and crack jokes. If you're afraid to talk in a group setting how are you going to be able to communicate to a customer. My buddy hire's at Apple and fills me in on some of the prospects.
If it's not a group setting it will be a series of 1 on 1 interviews with a majority of the managers. Be friendly, constantly talk highly about yourself and avoid what you lack. If you hit your negatives they stick with the managers. So speak highly don't degrade anyone, interrupt them or anything. Laugh with them and as my wife says "node and smile".
Hope this helps.

can anyone recommend an external DVD burner that works well with OS X? Specifically, one that intergrates well with the iLife programs. Thanks

iMacs have never had HDMI ports.
you just need the right adapter: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5311&seq=1&format=2
Thank you the bottom of the page says Thunderbolt compatible also but doesn't say how.

Are you looking for a text editor or a WYSIWYG editor? If you want a text editor then i would look at Coda (http://www.panic.com/coda/) or PHPStorm (http://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/). Both are pretty powerful IDE's for web design.
