I don't know about anyone else, but I find this image a little disturbing  . It looks good and is very well produced, but disturbing nonetheless. :o
Seemed like a good idea at the time... I guess I made it too literally (you are the apple in my eyes)

That's better then the G4 you were looking at. Did you get the ALS ambient light senor model? or the standard? Either way it's priced right for a G5 with blue tooth and airport.
The only advice that I have for these models is that you open it up carefully, and blow any dust or dirt (with an air can not a compressor!!!!)out of the heatsink and fans that may have accumulated over time.
Look at the picture I attached to open the iMac G5. It's really simple. Just a note when the 3 case screws stop moving stop turning them, they do not come out, do not try to force them to come out. And don't touch the electronics inside with your bare hands unless you're properly grounded (http://www.wikihow.com/Ground-Yourself-to-Avoid-Destroying-a-Computer-with-Electrostatic-Discharge).

Also of note with the Dension solution if you get a new car down the road and want to move it to the new car, it will only work if the new car is the same make as your current car (i.e. Honda to Honda not Honda to BMW) which sucks because they should just make it so you can just swap cable connecting the ICE Link to the car's headunit. Oh well I guess I'll see what the iCruze has to offer when it comes out.
This is not true. the ICE works with several after-market brands like Sony, Kenwood, Alpine, etc. If you had one of these in your car, and got a new one, you would merely have to move the radio to the new car.

1: I told them that I wanted to change my main computer to another, when I did that I hooked it up to the airport. And everything worked.
That hardware code that your talking about is the MAC address which is a method of regulating which computers are allowed to connect to their cable modem. As somebody else said, I'm surprised they let you switch it to a router, what you usually have to do is change the MAC address on the basestation to the address of what you had hooked up orginally.

I second Andy McKee and Raul Midon. I would look at somebody like Newton Faulkner. He's big in england and his live set is just him and acoustic rather than with some of the other instruments on the two albums. Maybe City & Colour for something a bit more emo.
Did you mean generally acoustic or instrumental?

So I checked it.
It turns out that Kingsly is exactly correct.

Not sure how you saw a 12" Powerbook over a decade ago since they didn't come out until 2003 ;)
But seriously, they will hold 1.12GB of RAM in the original 867MHz models, and all the ones after than will do 1.25GB of RAM. For a short time you actually could get CPU upgrades through a company that you would mail the PowerBook to and they would upgrade it to 1.67GHz or something like that. I've owned both a 867MHz model and currently a 1.5GHz one. Go for no less than a 1.33. They have faster RAM, much better graphics chips, and more HD space by default. My 1.5GHz is wonderful in Leopard with the maximum RAM installed and its 64MB GeForce Go5200 graphics card. Probably wouldn't hurt to find a newer & faster HD, but for a secondary computer, 60GB is plenty for me.

They just need to have another Us Fest, seriously. For those that don't remember, in the early 80s (before Apple lost it's cool, while Jobs and Woz were still a team) they laid down sod over part of the desert, had air-conditioned tents, and threw a rock festival in part for their employees and the press. This was two decades before Apple got into digital music... they knew how to throw a party :)
edit: I'm not sure if it was Apple or Wozniac that officially sponsored it, so don't flame me.

About a week ago I got a new MBP 17". I wanted to upgrade the RAM, but let the sales guy talk me out of it. Well, my last day to return is this saturday. Would I be able to get the "upgrade" price if I took it in or would they try to make me pay full price?
I think I should be able to get the upgrade price as I could still return it and buy a new one with the memory I want.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks.

Hmm not sure about the booting problem since it gets that far. There's another virtualization program called VirtualBox that's open-source and maintained by Sun/Oracle. Here (http://www.virtualbox.org/)is the link. It's free. Works the same way as the others, except it's not as integrated.

Lance has said he'll retire or has even retired before I think, but coming out of retirement 'just to p*ss them off' is a bit lame.
Well, I don't think he'd go to that much trouble just to taunt the French media...If he does race I think the reason will be because that's what he does, and he doesn't want to stop.
Although, maybe it would be better for him to start competing in other Tours like the Giro d'Italia - he's already put his stamp firmly on the Tour de France.
PS. Don't diss MJ - you run a good chance of being struck down.... ;)
LOL, I never was much of a basketball fan but it was sad to see such a legend fade away like he did - it was just too hard to let go.

i use a microsoft wireless g router
does the trick
was really cheapI endorse this router, as well... I have an MN-700 wireless router and 2 MN-100 wired routers (connected to the MN-700), and they're very solid. Plus, you can get the MN-700 from Overstock.com for only $39.95.
The only caveat I know of is that you MIGHT need a Windows box in order to run the configuration software... I have my Mac mini connected through my MN-700, but I handle all of the router configuration on one of my Windows PCs.

Try resetting the PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
On a side note. You should never install a developer preview as your primary OS.
thank you soo much dude!!

I don't like Graphite because it's not grey, it's slightly purple grey, which I think doesn't look good for some reason. I would love a black glossy theme, or that you can choose any color from a color picker (for the buttons and scroll bars).

Is there a plugin API in Xcode (4)?
I miss a lot of the brilliant extensions made for VS2008 and VS2010. ReSharper, Telerik, misc database plugins etc. are all good tools that enhance VS and makes it so good. That way some of the itches that Apple can't or won't scratch could be done by other developers.

what school hands out individual laptops!
There's actually quite a few schools down here that each student is given a laptop we're talking High Schools with 1500+ kids... Within the first week kids were being robbed walking home from school for the laptops..
