If you do a little bit of searing, you can see some pretty cool videos by people using nothing but iPhones, especially the iphone4.
Has anyone here played with the iPhone 4 to do some videos?
I have bought some stuff on eBay such as a wide angle lens and macro lens to play with. I am having a hell of a time trying to find a 15ft or longer 3ring cable extension to attach a external mic to. But once I have that, I'll use another eBay toy to mount it on a small tripod.
Some might wonder why I am bothring with the iPhone as a video tool, but the fact that I can carry a HD camera kit in my shoulder bag is too convenient not to try.
I'll be using it do interviews and creative work.
More to come.
Wow! I've been thinking about doing an iPhone project myself ever since the 4 came - the idea seems fun (me being a total newbie with shootng)! Now you got me REALLY wanting to get it on!!
What lenses and equipment would you say is necessary? Is some kind of wireless mics an option?

I have been using screen in the osx terminal to get serial access, using the following:
screen telnet /dev/tty.usbserial
Unfortunately I can't scrollback in screen, which makes copying long config files a process of :apple:-C, :apple:-V, and repeat. Any suggestions for native serial support in the osx terminal app WITH scrollback?
I do not understand why you are using screen to launch telnet instead of invoking it directly, but try using logging in screen (-L if memory serves right)
Personally I would use tee to make a copy of the output in a file and extract your config files from this file.
Also IIRC Cisco's iOS lets you save and load config files directly. I do not remember the exact syntax but try built-in help...
Hope this helps,
Trebor.

Depends on what you call normal.
Mathematica 8 (http://www.wolfram.com/mathematica/new-in-8/)
Indeed. I can definitely think of some scientific computing applications that will, essentially, eat as much resources as you want to give them.

Only difference I can see is that the 12"pb now has a shipping date of 2 days whereas yesterday, like all the other size models it was 24 hours.

...but if you plan on using the external for extensive rendering and etc. then the D2 would be better.
I havn't had over heating problems on my LaCi Proche drive, and I have had it work hard for several hours at a time. Then again, it is on a glass table.

I am jailbroken, latest firmware, what do I need to get off Cyida to make this work?

Hey Guys,
For sale is my backup 8GB iPhone. It is currently unlocked for use with any GSM carrier. As you can see from the pics, it has a crack up top and a small one on the bottom right corner. This is purely cosmetic and has no affect on the phone whatsoever. Touch sensitivity works fine anywhere on the screen as well as the phone feature/speakers. This iPhone is perfectly functioning!
Take a look at the pics and ask any questions in the thread!
I am taking offers!

Check out the mStand (http://www.raindesigninc.com/mstand.html). It's really beautiful and matches the Alum Macbook.
More love for the Rain Design mStand (http://www.raindesigninc.com/mstand.html). I use one of these and so does my dad.

Executable code from 3rd party servers?
If this is what iCab did then Apple should have done this a long time ago.

Personally Id go to 7.6 as its basically Mac OS 8.0 without the stuff that made 8.0 slow - on 68K Machines either 7.6 or 7.1 are going to be the best systems (7.5.5 is actually pretty horrid, 7.6 is much better).

Holy crap! Welcome back! Where the hell have you been, man? We missed you!
EDIT- Oh, and thanks for the support. :)
Thanks!
Been? Running around trying to get people to be a bit more . . . reasonable. Some successes, some failures.
And you're welcome re support! I just wish it were not an issue . . .
How has it been here? I think it was just short of 3 years.

My Apple wireless keyboard lasts 2-3 months on regular AA batteries.
If your wireless keyboard was backlit you'd have to replace the batteries every second day or so...
:( Mine doesn't last that long, but I guess I do use it alot!! And I never turn it off, or my computer!

Who is General Sentiment? Is he in charge of the mobile wars? ...You completely misunderstand. General Sentiment is not a who; General Sentiment is a what. What General Motors is to automobiles and General Electric is to electric devices, General Sentiment is to sentiments. However, General Sentiment has taken it on the chin in recent years because Asian manufacturers now produce cheap sentiment imports. GS has fought back by outsourcing sentiments to factories in China, Mexico, and South Africa. However, the unionized American sentiment worker produces world-class sentiments at a competitive price.

I've recently noticed- some iLife apps are not working. The biggest concern is iPhoto - I've opened up iPhoto '11 (iLife 11) but it says:
Image (http://i51.tinypic.com/2zhlixz.png)
However, and here's the catch - iDVD, iMovie, working. Just a couple apps are not working (I can't check every single one for compatibility). Is this a universal problem? How do I fix it? I have iLife '10 and '09 if that helps but I haven't checked if they work. Either way, I would like to use iLife '11 over either older versions... Thanks!
So I'm not seeing a problem here. Are you saying when you click software update nothing happens? What exactly is the problem?
I'm running 9.1.2 with no problems.

I do not know how to delete OS 9 that came preinstalled with my iBook 700. I have no use for OS 9 and it's just taking up space on my hard drive. I tried to just drag the OS 9 system folder to trash but even after setting permissions it still said it's being used by the system and could not be deleted. Can anyone tell me how to delete it?

Via Paypal.
Via email so I can use the code right away instead of someone shipping to me.
I'm verified with a credit card in it.

Bose makes the best speakers for computers and they work with the Mac and I-pod. The best thing is their price--less than $100 (right around that price). They come with the subwoofer builtin, making them easy to move around. They are called Media Mate. They come in a few colors that definitely match the Imac or any other Mac color.
As for which computer--I say stay away from the Ibook. They have a logic board problem that still is not fixed--I know I've gone through 5 of them already.

with most cable modems, this is fixed simply by completely unplugging the cable modem and then plugging it in while its connected to the airport.
i spent a few minutes rummaging through the pdf's for airport extreme and failed to find documentation on a simple function it SHOULD have. if it doesnt, then i won't buy the one i had been planning for. this is the ability to change/clone its MAC address. this would enable you to 'fake' the address of the computer that was already receiving the IP. can someone confirm whether or not its there?
